BBMRI-ERIC is the European research infrastructure (RI) for biobanking and biomolecular resources, one of the largest RIs in the health and life sciences. Set up in 2013, the infrastricture includes around 500 biobanks within 29 Nodes from 28 Member and Observer countries plus the global organisation IARC/WHO. Our headquarters are in Graz, Austria.

Our services provided for, and by, the biobanking community (clinicians, researchers, biobankers, industry, patients, public) facilitate responsible access to high-quality samples, data, biomolecular resources and additional services. This is made possible through our expertise in biobank operations, quality management, datafication and ethical, legal and societal implications.

BBMRI-ERIC’s vision is simplified as: “Biobanking for a Healthier World”.
