Norway

Biobank Norway (BN, bbmri.no) is a large-scale national research infrastructure for clinical and population-based biobanks, established in 2011. BN has developed key services and technologies, including implementing automated storage solutions that have enabled the use of biological materials linked to rich research data across numerous Norwegian research environments. BN has facilitated the availability of a range of well described biospecimens and corresponding health related data, including large scale genotyping of 450,000 samples from population studies.

These efforts have contributed to several hundred research projects resulting in a vast number of high-profiled publications. Biobank Norway/NTNU, on behalf of BBMRI-ERIC, coordinates the Horizon Europe project, INTEGRATE Large Medical Cohorts. More about BBMRI.no.
