Sweden

Biobank Sweden is not a biobank but a national infrastructure for biobanking where healthcare, academia, industry and patient organisations collaborate to attain good healthcare and research. We do this by national coordination of regulatory and operative management including documentation, communication, education, quality management and ELSI-matters.
Biobank Sweden also builds a national biobank registry with several functionalities including consent management for health care samples, finding samples for research and healthcare, management of biobank applications and management of applications for clinical trials that need access to biobank samples.
