Lithuania

The BBMRI.lt node represents the National Cancer Institute of Lithuania (node coordinator), Vilnius University, Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences and the Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kauno Klinikos. Together, biobanks maintain collections covering oncology, haematology, rheumatology, infectious diseases and population-based cohorts.
The collections include snap-frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues, digital images, blood-derived samples, viable cells, DNA/RNA and associated clinical, demographic and epidemiological data. The infrastructure is being expanded to support multimodal phenotype integration and population-level biomedical research. More about BBMRI.lt.
