BBMRI.si consists of University of Maribor, University of Ljubljana, University of Primorska, National Institute of Biology, University Medical Centre Maribor and University Clinic Golnik. It is very interdisciplinary in its nature covering medical, biological, biochemical, IKT, legal, ethical and societal aspects. We tightly collaborate with the Slovenian Ministry of Health to prepare a new law on biobanking. Moreover, a tight collaboration with the Slovenian Society of Patient Organisation was established to further enhance our outreach.

We successfully published important research findings in leading scientific journals including Nature Genetics, Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Reviews Chemistry and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences U.S.A. We tightly collaborate with Slovenian pharmaceutical companies Krka and Lek.
